AUGMENTED REALITY:
Preview Your Favorite Artwork in Your Own Home!
"I Love it!"
"I WANT IT."
"What size do I need?"
"Where should I hang it?
"Will it look good in my home?"
If you've visited our website, you've probably spotted at least one work of art that you'd love to have hanging on your wall. But, how can you be confident that it will look as good in your home as it does on the website?
Augmented Reality to the rescue! Augmented Reality ("AR") is a website feature that lets you preview a work of art in your own home by automatically superimposing it over the camera image on your cell phone or iPad.
Let's take a look at how it works using my Samsung Galaxy S9 cell phone. NOTE: The interface on your mobile phone may appear different. See below for information about compatible browsers and mobile devices.
HOW TO USE AUGMENTED REALITY TO PREVIEW ARTWORK IN YOUR HOME
STEP 1
Open the browser* on your mobile device and navigate to www.nancyrouxphoto.com.
STEP 2
Navigate to the product page of your favorite artwork. In this example, we're going to preview "Passage Beyond" on a wall in my kitchen. Click the Live Preview AR icon.
AR automatically turns on your mobile device camera and superimposes the artwork over the camera image.
IMPORTANT! For the most accurate results, stand 10 feet from a wall in your home and point your phone's camera at the spot where you'd like to preview your artwork. In this example, my cell phone is positioned 10 feet from the kitchen wall and the camera lens is pointing at the spot where I plan to hang my new art.
TIP: You can drag the artwork to another area of the preview screen using the tip of your finger.
STEP 3
In this case, the default 8x16 size appears much too small for this spot. Click the size down arrow located above the camera image.
A pop-up window displays the size options available for this artwork.
STEP 4
In this example, we're going to click 12 x 24 to see if that size is a better fit than the 8x16.
The pop-up window closes. The artwork size changes in the preview window.
NOTE: You may need to repeat the process to preview a few different sizes before you decide on one that's best for your chosen location.
TIP: Make sure to allow plenty of space around your artwork when previewing different sizes - especially if you plan to have it framed! If it's too close to its surroundings, your artwork may end up competing with your other furnishings for attention.
STEP 5
Once you've identified the best size art for your space, click the preview window's close box.
The AR preview window closes and the artwork product page reappears.
Congratulations! You have successfully used the Augmented Reality tool on nancyrouxphoto.com to preview a work of art in your home setting - giving you the confidence of knowing that your new artwork will look just as good in your home as it does online.
Now that you've returned to the product page, you'll choose your artwork options before placing your order.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR ARTWORK OPTIONS BEFORE ORDERING

STEP 3
Click Styles and choose from the available finishing options. In this example, I want the metalprint to have rounded corners and a float mount hanger installed on the back.
